Recombinant human CXCL13 protein is expressed in E. coli, refolded and purified as the native form of the mature chemokine to yield an 87 residue polypeptide. Human CXCL13, also known as beta-cell attracting chemokine (BCA-1) or beta-cell ligand (BCL), is the ligand for the G protein-coupled receptor CXCR5. CXCL13 is strongly expressed in the follicles of the spleen, lymph nodes, and Peyer's patches. It preferentially promotes the migration of B lymphocytes over T cells and macrophages.
