CXCL14 protein is expressed in E. coli, processed, refolded and purified to yield the native, secreted form of the mature chemokine.
CXCL14 is an orphaned ligand constitutively produced in many normal tissues but is reduced or absent in most cancer cells. CXCL14 is chemotactic for monocytes in the presence of prostaglandin-E2, an attractor and activator of dendritic cells, and chemoattractant for activated NK cells.
